Since 1995, Wilderness Awareness School's Homeschool Programs for ages 4 - 18 have cultivated young people's understanding and appreciation of nature, community and self.

We offer a variety of camps and courses during the summer and school year for children and teens.

Nature Preschool - Roots and Wings

In Roots and Wings outdoor nature preschool, children ages 4-6 have fun and explore the natural world around them through nature activities for kids, such as songs, stories and walks, and by observing plants and animals with all of their senses.

Ages 4-6 $2100 (one day per week); $3,900 (two days), Wed and/or Fri 9am-1pm

Nature Homeschool Program - Youth School

Wilderness Awareness Youth School is a weekly nature course for homeschooled children ages 7-12. Through creative play and exploration, Youth School participants work together in small groups, gaining nature awareness and knowledge of plants, mammals, tracking, birds, and survival.

Ages 7-12 $2340 (one day per week), Thurs 9am–3pm

Teen Homeschool Program - Community School

Teens immerse themselves in intensive, experiential studies of nature from both scientific and indigenous perspectives. In this effort, our students are instructed and supported by a large, diverse community of mentors from all ages and walks of life.

Ages 13-18 $3480 (one day per week), Tues or Wed 9am-3pm

Monthly Homeschool Nature Program

Our instructors guide students into experiences that nurture their connection to the earth and allow them to feel at home in the natural world.

Ages 6-12 $355 per year, 7 sessions through the year 9am-3pm

Family Programs

Family Programs allow children and the adults in their lives the chance to work together on projects and skills, and share experiences in nature. For those considering enrolling their children in our on-going programs, they provide an excellent chance to sample the fun and adventure that awaits everyone at Wilderness Awareness School.

Ages Kids with Adult $105 for first child, $70 for each add'l sibling ,
7 sessions, 2nd Sat./month; Oct. - May
